Saratoga and Encampment middle and high school students took the classic fairytale “The Princes and the Pea”, put their own twist on it and called it “The Pea Test: The Real Story of the Princess and the Pea”.

PV Kiwanis to host regional Stars

Platte Valley Kiwanis is ready to host its second regional Stars of Tomorrow event at 3 p.m., April 13 in Saratoga.
Everyone is welcome to attend the event free of charge, which will take place at the Platte Valley Community Center.
The event provides an opportunity for top high school performers from southeast Wyoming communities to showcase their performing abilities, according to the Kiwanis.

Kit Carson in Wyoming

The Saratoga Friends of the Library will sponsor a free presentation by John Farr at 7 p.m., April 18 at the Saratoga Library, (503 W. Elm St.)
Farr’s presentation, “Kit Carson in the West,” tells the story of Kit Carson becoming a mountain man and fur trapper, and his influence on Wyoming.
Farr is vice-president of the Grand Encampment Museum and former president of the Kit Carson Home and Museum in Taos, N.M.

Get your pool cues ready

Five of the top pool players in the world are competing this weekend at the sixth annual Wyoming Open in Saratoga.
Rodney Morris, Raj Hundal, Charlie Williams, Shane Van Boening and Stevie Moore are signed up. Van Boening just won the U.S. Open and is ranked No. 1 in the United States.
