Ghostbuster Air, or; De-verting and De-icing de Plane

Recently I went south to Houston to see family and friends.
This time I flew out of a regional airport that turned out to be both closer and cheaper than our nearest big city hubs.
The security is much less stressful to get through at a regional airport and this particular regional airport actually lands the big jets and not so much with the little sickness-inducing prop hoppers.

The most controversial Oscar nominee this year isn’t American Sniper. Nor is it Selma, the Oscar-snubbed Martin Luther King docudrama. If you were like me, you probably hadn’t even heard about the film. Chances are you likely will following this year’s Academy Awards. The documentary, nominated for an award in the Best Documentary category is titled, “CitizenFour”.

Homecoming off to a mythical start

Encampment K-12 School kicked off homecoming week with a pep assembly on Monday morning to show off the different dress up days to the students.
The classes also watched a video about the Make-A-Wish Foundation.
The Penny Wars end today. The the classes compete to raise money for the Wyoming chapter of the Make-A-Wish Foundation.

2015 Wyoming Short Film Contest Seeking Entries

The Wyoming Film Office is seeking submissions for the Wyoming Short Film Contest. Film makers can submit their videos online at www.wyomingshortfilmcontest.com by April 2, 2015. A $25,000 grand prize will be awarded to the winning entry with a storyline that takes place in Wyoming, features Wyoming or presents the state as a major character.

aratoga Museum to host wine tasting fundraiser

The Saratoga Historical and Cultural Association (SH&CA) is hosting the second annual wine tasting event from 6 to 8 p.m., Friday in the west lobby of the Platte Valley Community Center.
Local restaurants and businesses will feature hors d’oeuvres to compliment wine offered at their establishments, SH&CA board president Liz Wood said.

Zombie Apocalypse training

Zombie prep should never be left to the last minute - unless you happen to like the taste of brains for dinner. Teens ages 11-17 will learn how to prepare for an upcoming Zombie Apocalypse 11a.m. to 1p.m., Feb. 6 at the Saratoga Library.
