Saratoga Lady Panthers win Homecoming game

Lady Panthers play twice this week and took their team to victory against Niobrara County Tigers

The Lady Panthers had a tough time with the Encampment Lady Tigers in the first set of Thursday night's game but they came out fighting with the next three sets. "We put together a solid match against Encampment. I felt we did a better job on defense and found a good flow as a team. I was really proud of the girls and how hard they played" said Coach Love.

Whitney Bennett cleared the net with 13 kills followed closely by Makenna King with nine. Their teammates never let them down either, bringing the crowd to a roar and to their feet.

Shelby Knotwell, Hanna Lathrop and Olivia Everett had no trouble slamming their way to score.

Josie Little, a young lady to be reckoned with tallied up 20 digs.

Sadie Bangs and Allie Condict dug in deep and brought the game home.

The Lady Panthers stood out with a 3-1 win on Homecoming weekend, against Niobrara County. Whitney Bennett (#7) slammed across the net with 13 kills, followed by Makenna King (#9) with 10 kills. Shelby Knotwell (#5) and Olivia Everett (#8) kept the Tigers on the run as well.

All of the lady's showed their prowess at digging. A dig is a challenging move, especially when a hard spike is headed for the ground or your face. These lady's had no fear, preventing the Tigers from scoring and keeping the team in the rally. Everett had 15 digs, followed closely by Bennett, and Allie Condict (#10). All of the girls on the court dug in to win.

"The girls put together a great match on Saturday. With a long week of homecoming activities sometimes they can be a bit tired and it is hard to find momentum. I felt they did a great job of pulling things together to get the win. We started out very strong and lost some consistency in the second set. After refocusing and capitalizing on our strengths we were able to come away with the win. I was proud of them for being able to to do that", said Coach Love.
