Kiwanis presents scholarships

Two Saratoga grads, one Encampment graduate receive funds

The Platte Valley Chapter of Kiwanis International recently announced three recipients of their scholarship for the 2021/2022 school year. Two seniors from Saratoga High School and one senior from Encampment High School were awarded scholarships from the local service organization.

Geoffrey Johnson, a graduate of Saratoga High School, will be attending the University of Wyoming to obtain a degree in civil engineering. Johnson was the Valedictorian of the Saratoga Class of 2022 with a 3.9 GPA.

Samantha “Sam” Fiedor, another graduate of Saratoga High School, will be attending Western Nebraska Community College in Scottsbluff, Nebraska to pursue an associate degree in nursing. Fiedor was the Salutatorian of the Saratoga Class of 2022.

Koye Gilbert, a graduate of Encampment High School, will be studying sports fitness and recreation management at Chadron State College in Nebraska. Gilbert was the Valedictorian of the Encampment Class of 2022 with a 3.9 GPA.
