Seminoe gunshot investigated

Initial investigation leads CCSO to believe gunshot was accidental

The Carbon County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a gunshot incident which occured on April 30.

According to a press release from the sheriff’s office, the CCSO received a call for a woman with a gunshot wound being transported by passenger vehicle on Carbon County Road 351 (Seminoe Road). At the time of the call, the vehicle transporting the injured woman was at mile marker 30 and heading south towards Rawlins.

Deputy Alex Bakken and Deputy Zach Burns responded to the call and intercepted the vehicle at the Dugway, which is approximately seven miles north of Sinclair.

Bakken and Burns provided basic first aid to the injured woman until an ambulance crew arrived to take over medical treatment. It was determined the woman would be transported to Casper by air ambulance where she was treated and released.

Upon initial investigation, the gunshot appeared to be accidental, according to the CCSO. A male occupant of the vehicle was taken into custody on an unrelated warrant. The identity of the woman was not available as of press time.
