Lady Rattlers get conference win at home over Lady Panthers
While originally scheduled to host the Encampment Lady Tigers and the Saratoga Lady Panthers, the Little Snake River Valley (LSRV) Lady Rattlers were down to one game this weekend. Though illness sidelines Encampment, the Lady Rattlers were still able to host Saratoga for a conference in.
“I thought our girls played a great game. We came out and played very well defensively and that really helps our offense get going,” said Head Coach Mark Gillies. “We moved the ball really well on offense and got some really good shots.”
Skylynn Ready led the Lady Rattlers against Saratoga as she scored 19 points and had 2 assists and 2 steals. Kinlie Montgomery followed with 12 points, 4 assists and 3 steals. Kylie Evans scored 7 points and 1 steal and Katelynn Englehart scored 6 points.
The final score was 54-41, LSRV.
“I really felt like our intensity was good throughout the game,” Gillies said. “It is really nice to get a conference win on your home floor and I think the way the girls played showed how hard they had worked in practice the past week.”
Following their win over Saratoga, the LSRV Lady Rattlers are sitting at No. 1 in the 1A Southwest Conference. LSRV is 9-2 for the season and 3-0 for conference play.
The Lady Rattlers will be on the road this weekend as they are hosted by the Farson-Eden Lady Pronghorns at 4 p.m. on February 4 and the Cokeville Lady Panthers at noon on February 5.
