Lady Tigers go 1-1 over weekend

Encampment downs Lady Miners, falls to Cokeville

The Encampment Lady Tigers came away with a split weekend after one non-conference game and one conference game. On Friday, they were hosted by the Hanna, Elk Mountain, Medicine Bow (HEM) Lady Miners and the Cokeville Lady Panthers on Staurday.

Lady Tigers vs. Lady Miners

The Lady Tigers attacked HEM on their home court for a 3-1 match. The netters played four sets total with Encampment taking a bite out of the Lady Miners in the first set at 25-21. HEM refused to be held down on their own court, returning in the second set with a score of 29-27. Both teams viciously fought for the win with a small point difference in the first three sets. The Lady Tigers took the third set with only two points difference winning at 26-24.

Cora Schroeder led the team with 25 attacks followed closely by Katie Dugger with 24, and Allision Bromley with 20 attacks.

Encampment dug into the Lady Miners led by Kristie Jordan with 20 digs, Katie Dugger with 12 and Cora Schroeder with10 digs.

Taking a bite out of Hanna the Lady Tigers had a total of 42 kills and 19 aces. Cora Schroeder had 9 Kills and 5 aces, Katie Dugger had 7 kills and 5 aces, Kyenna Jackson had 8 kills and Allison Bromley had 6 kills.

In the fourth set the Lady Tigers buried the HEM at 25-14. The Encampment Netters finished the game strong with a 11 point lead.

Lady Tigers vs. Lady Panthers

Facing the Cokeville Saturday, the Lady Tigers had a match filled weekend. Cokeville took a bite out of the Lady Tigers in the first set at 25-12. Encampment let their claws out in the second set as they came only three points from a win in the second set. The Lady Panthers took the second set at 25-22. Playing only three sets in the match, Cokeville defended their home court. Finishing the cat fight between the two teams, Cokeville took the set at 25-17.

The Encampment Lady Tigers next scheduled game is the Thermopolis Invitational October 1 and 2 in Thermopolis.
