Inaugural Platte Valley Regional Business Expo announced

The Platte Valley Community Center (PVCC) will soon be host to a multi-day event for the benefit of Valley businesses. The inaugural Platte Valley Regional Business Expo will be held at the PVCC and is a joint venture between the Carbon County Economic Development Corporation, the Saratoga/Platte Valley Chamber of Commerce, the Rawlins Chamber of Commerce and the PVCC.

According to a press release from the Saratoga/Platte Valley Chamber of Commerce, "The Platte Valley Regional Expo will enable participants to maximize their business exposure with influential decision makers, build new business relationships, introduce new products to the community, generate publicity, make on-the-spot sales and engage in networking opportunities."

The press release went on to read that the expo will be open to businesses across all fields such as restaurants, banking, retail, industrial, agriculture and crafters.

"We encourage restaurants to set up a booth for a 'Taste of the Valley', where they can offer free samples of new or existing dishes, give out promotional items or sell signature items such as apparel, sauces, etc.," the press release continued. "There are way that every business can be represented at the Expo."

In addition to providing a space for local businesses to meet and network, a slate of guest speakers are also scheduled to appear at the Expo including Senator Cynthia Lummis.

Additionally, the Expo will serve as a Career Day for both Carbon County School District No. 1 and Carbon County School District No. 2 for two of the three days.

"The students will have an opportunity to learn about the vast array of business and career opportunities in southern Wyoming and can apply for locally offered scholarships," continued the press release. "This is a great opportunity for our southern Wyoming students of all ages to explore the career, business and educational offerings in our Valley and beyond. Students can learn about what is required of them to work in a certain field and about opportunities after high school they may not know about otherwise."

Those businesses who would like to participate in the Platte Valley Regional Business Expo should contact either the Saratoga/Platte Valley Chamber of Commerce, the Carbon County Economic Development Corporation, the Rawlins Chamber of Commerce or the PVCC.

The Platte Valley Regional Business Expo will take place from May 6 to May 8 with the Career Day portions occurring on May 6 and May 7.
