Candidates to speak at VSO forum

All candidates for Saratoga Town Council and House District 47 have indicated they will attend the upcoming candidates’ forum sponsored by the Valley Service Organization (VSO), according to Kassey Westring, forum moderator for the organization.

The forum is scheduled for Monday, October 12, at 7 p.m. at the Platte Valley Community Center Great Hall.

As in past forums, VSO will open the event with a few brief remarks, then the candidates will be asked to tell the audience why they are running, she said. Questions provided to VSO earlier and from the audience will then be directed to the candidates. Responses will be timed.

The Saratoga Sun will also be live streaming the event on its Facebook page.

Candidates for the two four-year terms open on the Saratoga Town Council are Danny Burau, Creed James, Benjamin R. Spaulding and Tasha Worthington.

Candidates for Carbon County’s two-year House District 47 seat are Incumbent Republican Jerry Paxton of Encampment and Libertarian Lela Konecny of Saratoga.
