Rev. Cindy Pattishall-Baker

Cynthia Ann was born December 10, 1952 in Tulsa, Oklahoma, to Marvin and Nancy Pleasant and raised and educated in California before entering the ministry.

Rev. Cindy, as she preferred to be addressed, died peacefully in her sleep June 16 at the Wyoming Medical Center in Casper following a painful, lengthy illness.

She was called as the shared minister for both Valley churches in January 2003 and served until March 2006. Upon leaving a settled ministry she continued to live in the Saratoga/Encampment area where she applied her clinical training in psychology with COVE, retiring from active work after a series of heart attacks. She continued a worldwide pastoral and Intercessory prayer ministry from her bedroom by smartphone until she passed away.

She recently reflected, "I've gotten to do (and then some) all I dreamed about as a young person. I've seen 82 countries and lived and worked in five (USA, Switzerland, Canada, Guatemala and Australia); spent ten years teaching at college and graduate school levels; served as pastor of 20 churches (up to five at a time); been a Presbytery officer for 34 churches (Maya Quiche Presbytery, Guatemala) and a Synod consultant for 400 plus churches (Consultant for Evangelism & Renewal, South Australian Synod, Australia)."

Prior to her becoming a minister she was a waitress, school hall receptionist, geology and psychology lab assistant, camp counselor, and an intern clinical psychologist.

She earned AA degrees in geology and psychology with a minor in African Studies, plus received bachelor degrees in psychology and philosophy; a Master's of Divinity and was named a Fellow of Pastoral Leadership Development while doing Doctoral Studies at Princeton University.

Cindy is survived by her husband, David; two sons, Jonathon and Emmanuel and his wife Jadyn; a grandson Barrett Lester; a sister Patti, and numerous brothers and sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews and great nieces and nephews in both U.S.A. and Australia.

Recently, Rev. Cindy wrote, "I have had a full and rewarding life so please celebrate my life, hold onto that which is good and learn from any mistakes I made, Honor and Respect God and enjoy your life."
