Weather wrecks wrestling again

CCSD2 Wrestling teams unable to grapple with winter closures

Old man winter just kept on disrupting the schedule for the two wrestling teams in Carbon County School District No. 2. This past week the wrestling teams of Saratoga High School Panthers and the Hanna, Elk Mountain, Medicine Bow (HEM) Miners were forced to cancel the tournament in Rawlins this week. This is the third wrestling event that has been canceled due to weather. So far no wrestling events have taken place in February for either Carbon County school team.

The Rumble in Rawlins had teams not only from Carbon County coming, but also from all over the state and two teams from out of state.

On February 8, besides the Panthers and Miners, the Rawlins event had Douglas, Natrona, Rawlins, Riverton, Moffat County, Colorado and West Grand, Colorado coming to the Rumble in Rawlins wrestling tournament.

Old Man Winter had other ideas about having wrestlers from other areas to come to Rawlins. Snow and wind had the roads shut down in many parts of Wyoming and Colorado in the early morning and the meet was canceled.

Saratoga Panthers and HEM Miners will wrestle on February 14-15 in the Carbon tournament that will be held at HEM.
