Beating the weather

A new look for a Valley icon

The new and improved Saratoga Museum Pavilion is now scheduling events, weddings and receptions/parties due in part to a $5,000 grant received from the General Grant Fund from the Wyoming Community Foundation and a $1,000 Bridge Street Bargains Grant. Inclement weather is a part of where we live. With the new weather curtains, events can be scheduled and not have to worry about bad weather, especially the wind.

The Saratoga Historical & Cultural Association (SH & CA) is a nonprofit organization serving South Central Wyoming. The museum provides programs which support the tourist industry, educational programs and preserves the history of the North Platte Valley. SH & CA has worked to conserve the local history in a way which is fun and interesting to learn. A program which is very well attended is Treks. This year treks will include a Historic Downtown Walking Tour, A Trek of Our Lumber and Logging Industry, and the Ryan Park Ski Area.

SH & CA Board President Connie Patterson said, “The Saratoga Museum projects have been incredibly positive to the community. The inclement weather curtains for the Saratoga Museum have been a great addition to the museum’s outdoor pavilion. In addition to providing relief from the wind and rain, the curtains also act as a sound barrier so that traffic noise is reduced, providing a much more enjoyable experience in the pavilion”.
