Asking for help

Encampment Preschool reaches out for donations from community

The Encampment Preschool is asking for donations, according to a press release from the 501(c)(3) nonprofit’s new director. Rachel Swanson, who replaced retiring director Deb Cunningham, stated in the press release that the preschool is “looking to our community for financial support.”

All donations made to the Encampment Preschool go towards paying for tuition for attending students. According to the press release, enrollment at the preschool has increased from last year with eight students in the morning class and 11 in the afternoon class.

“Many of these children could not attend preschool if it were not for the generosity we receive from you and our community,” read the release. “We are once again asking for your support.”

The preschool is located in the Encampment K-12 School and the morning class is for 3-4 year olds while the afternoon class is for 4-5 year olds.

“We work to develop the academic skills needed for kindergarten. We also enjoy physical education, music and art,” continued the press release. “We have a special mural project planned with Platte Valley Arts Council this school year! Keep an eye out this spring/summer for a new mural in town.”

A donation of any amount would be appreciated, according to Swanson, and all money will be placed in the scholarship fund. Because the preschool is a 501(c)(3), any donation is tax deductible.

Those with questions are encouraged to call Swanson at 307-329-3172.
