Churches around east Carbon County are preparing for the highlight of the Christian calendar. Many houses of worship will be offering special Christmas Eve or Christmas Day services.
St. Ann’s Catholic Church
On Dec. 24, St. Ann’s Catholic Church at 211 W. Spring St. in Saratoga will be holding a Christmas Eve Mass at 10 p.m. The church will also be holding a Christmas Day Mass at 10 a.m.
St. Joseph’s Mission Church
On Christmas Eve, St. Joseph’s Mission Church at 3 Heather Dr. in Hanna will be holding a Christmas Eve Mass at 4 p.m.
Saratoga Alliance Church
The Saratoga Alliance Church will be holding a Community Christmas Service at the Platte Valley Community Center at 10:30 a.m. on Dec. 22 with refreshments at 9:30 a.m. The church will also be holding a Christmas Eve service at 4 p.m. on Dec. 24 at 1302 S. River St. in Saratoga.
Christian Community Church
The Christian Community Church 3.5 miles north of Encampment on Highway 230 will be holding services on Christmas Eve beginning at 3 p.m.
Platte Valley Lutheran Church
The Platte Valley Lutheran Church at 154 S. First St. in Saratoga will be holding a Christmas Eve service beginning at 7 p.m.
St. Barnabas Episcopal Church
A Celtic Christmas Eve service is planned at St. Barnabas Episcopal Church at 104 W. Main in Saratoga. The service will begin with a singing of carols at 5:30 p.m. followed by a Celtic Christmas Eucharist (Communion) service. All are welcome.
First Presbyterian Church
The First Presbyterian Church at 3rd and Bridge in Saratoga will be holding a Christmas Eve service beginning at 7 p.m. The service will consist of singing favorite Christmas hymns, lighting the Christ Candle on the Advent Wreath, reading from Scripture, the chancel choir will do a musical piece and a Christmas message will be given by Rev. Steven Niccolls. All are invited to attend.
Encampment Presbyterian Church
The Encampment Presbyterian Church at 918 Rankin will be holding a community Christmas Eve service beginning at 5 p.m. Refreshments will follow the service.
Platte Valley Christian Center
The Platte Valley Christian Center, Assembly of God at 7th and Main in Saratoga will be holding a Christmas Eve service beginning at 5 p.m. The church will also be holding a New Year’s Eve celebration beginning at 7 p.,m. on Dec. 31.
Abundant Life Church
Abundant Life Church at 108 W. Spring Ave in Saratoga will be holding a Christmas service on Dec. 22 at 6 p.m. with special music.
Ride on Faith Ministries
Ride on Faith Ministries seven miles south of Saratoga will be holding a Christmas service on Dec. 22 at 10 a.m.
