Bridge Street Bargains in need

Dear Editor,

Bridge Street Bargains is in need of volunteers in order to continue our service to the community. We are a nonprofit thrift store and the money earned is returned to the community. Since September 2015, we have given approximately $70,000 to nonprofit organizations in our valley.

Anyone is welcome to join our team and we would love to have you. Hours are flexible and the volunteer establishes their own hours. So, come in and talk to us. We understand everyone is busy but if you can spare a couple hours a week, it would be a great help.

We pride ourselves in accepting gently used donations, sorting those donations and then displaying them in a professional setting. We make every attempt to use each donation. Some donations are recycled; others are donated to other nonprofits. Once or twice a year, we make a donation to some of the Native American reservations in our state.

In order to apply for money from Bridge Street Bargains, a simple grant is completed by the applicant, the grant is reviewed by the Board and volunteers, and if it falls within our guidelines, then it is approved. Our board meets once a month on the 4th Thursday of the month.

Here is a partial list of those organizations that have received grants from us. Saratoga, Ryan Park and Encampment Volunteer Fire Departments, Carbon County District #2 Public Schools, Carbon County Libraries, Museums, Cemeteries, Town of Saratoga, Odd Fellows Picnic Area, Saratoga Town Flowers, Platte Valley Chamber of Commerce, Saratoga Police Department, Winter Wonderland, various events such as Fishing Derby, Carbon County Pet Partners, Saratoga Food Bank, Various Cancer Organizations, and many more.

Please stop by Bridge Street Bargains if you need more information. We would love to visit with you.

Thank you.

Carol Beach
