Dale W. Johnson

A public memorial service will be held at Saratoga Cemetery at 10:30 a.m. on June 26 for former resident Dale W. Johnson.

Dale passed away in Molalla, Oregon on June 10, 2018. He was born to Oscar and Myrtle Johnson in Encampment, Wyoming, on February 23, 1929.

Dale went to public schools in Saratoga and graduated from high school in 1948. He spent much of his life logging, farming and driving school bus in Oregon. He loved family gatherings, music, dancing, fishing, hunting, woodworking and was a member of the United Methodist Church in Molalla.

Dale was preceded in death by his wife, Pearl Swanson-Misso, who was born on her parents’ ranch on South Spring Creek and lived for many years in the Saratoga area. They were married for 55 years.

Dale was also preceded in death by his two brothers, Charles and Raymond, who grew up in Saratoga.

Dale is survived by stepdaughter, Jane Runner-Getty, stepsons, Joe and Len Misso, all of Oregon; and his nieces, Kathy Grassmug, Marci Shaver and Charmaine Foltz. Dale’s nieces also have deep roots to Saratoga as members of the Everist and Vyvey families.

A double memorial service will be held at the same date and time for Dale’s son-in-law, Frank Getty, who passed away in February in Portland, Oregon.

Dale and Pearl have many relatives who are current or former residents of Saratoga, including Karen Herold, Ray Waliser, Iva Craig, John and Ken Swanson, and Joyce Evans and their families.
