Kiwanis reports monies raised, scholarship deadline and meet and greet

Platte Valley Kiwanis held a traveling bake sale fund raiser on March 21. Thanks to the generous support of the community, the club raised over $850. Proceeds from the bake sale will be used for scholarships, Mother’s Day gifts for residents at the Saratoga Care Center and swim passes at the Saratoga Municipal pool.

Scholarship applications are due May 4, 2019. Platte Valley Kiwanis will award a $500 scholarship to a graduating high school senior at both Encampment and Saratoga High Schools.

Application forms and instructions are available from school counselors. Last year’s award recipients were Wyatt Cox from Encampment High School and Ashlynn Johnson from Saratoga High School.

Platte Valley Kiwanis will be hosting a meet and greet social from 5:30 to 7 p.m. Tuesday May 14 on the patio at the Saratoga Resort and Spa. The event is open to any community members who wish to know more about how Platte Valley Kiwanis has served the community over the past 28 years! Kiwanis is a global organization of volunteers dedicated to changing the world one child and one community at a time. The club is open to women and men of all ages!
