Miners split week, coach getting team ready for playoffs
The Hanna, Elk Mountain, Medicine Bow (HEM) boys basketball team won one and lost one last week.
On Feb. 5 the Miners beat the Wheatland Sophomores resoundingly in front of a home court. Head coach Cliff Jones saw his team was doing well enough that he could play many of his players that usually don't get much time.
HEM won 59-27.
On Saturday against Lingle, Jones was still pleased with how well the Miners did.
Unfortunately for HEM, the Oilers came out with the win 59-53.
"We played well, we just didn't get the win," Jones said. "We are still building and hope to be playing our best basketball of the season by regionals."
The Miners are 8-7 overall and 2-1 in conference.
The next scheduled game is at 5 p.m. on Feb. 12 against Rock River in Rock River.
