Joan Irene (Chubb) Green

Joan Irene (Chubb) Green, 95, of Rawlins passed on Tuesday, Oct. 9, 2018 after a short illness.

Born June 17, 1923 in Axminster, Devon England to parents Samuel and Julia Chubb, Joan married Milfred Green of the United States Army on December 2, 1944. With the ending of World War II Joan, with her small son, departed England on HMS Queen Mary to be reunited with her husband in the United States. One of her proudest moments was November 5, 1953 when she became a naturalized Citizen of the United States. She enjoyed reminding others of their rights under the Constitution of the United States and how fortunate they were to live here. In their 50 years together, they lived in many different states throughout the western U.S. finally stopping permanently in Wyoming. Joan was very active in the Rebekah Lodge for many years in the various communities where she lived.

Survivors include four children, Glyn (Shirley) of N.H., Michael (Dawn) of Texas, JoAnne (Larry) McKee of Sheridan, Wyo., Timothy (Katherine) of Rawlins, Wyo., grand children Andrea (Michael) Lessard, Michele Green, Bryan (Rachel) Green, Carrie Green, Jason (Sarah) Green, John (Lacey)Green, Monique (Preston) Wagoner, Christopher (Christa) Green and great grandchildren, Tyler Green, Anthony Collins, Mathew Collins, Wyatt Collins, Cameron Green, Byron McMillan, Lawrence Green, Devin Green, Eve Green, Shay Green, Brinley Green, Conner Green, Makayla Green, Elizabeth Green, and Garion Wagoner. Joan was predeceased by her husband Milfred Willis Green on June 19, 1995 and great grand daughter Emery Grace Lessard on May 14, 2017. Joan’s greatest joy in life was her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Carbon County Senior Center, 545 15th Street, Rawlins, Wyo 82301.

Memorial services were held Saturday, Oct. 13 at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, 509 East Kendrick, Rawlins, Wyo.
