HART to HART

HART director looks to involve more members in decision making process

The Hanna Agricultural Resource Team (HART) met at 5:30 p.m. on Sept. 25 at the Hanna Market to discuss how to update members on what is going on.

Perry Goodrich, director of HART, said he was going to reach out to the members personally. He was also looking at setting up a Facebook page for HART to help with keeping members abreast of what was going on. Before setting up the Facebook page, he wants to get feedback from members.

“For too long we have operated with a circle of members making decisions and we need to get the other members involved,” Goodrich said. “This is a community outreach so we need to elevate our message to the town.”

Goodrich said he wants to emphasize what HART has been about in the past, such as focusing on helping member improve home gardens, improving the community garden where it needs it and having guest speakers come and give their opinions on how to enhance what HART is trying to develop in the town.

He also wants to reach out to members that have left HART.

Goodrich said he would promote sharing plots next year for residents who might feel one plot is too large for their needs. He also wants to get the greenhouse started next year since the groundwork is currently laid.

The Christmas party was discussed but no firm date was set. The holiday party will be at the Hanna Market.

The next scheduled HART meeting is at 5:30 p.m. on Oct. 30 at the Hanna Market.
