Running in Rawlins

Saratoga Cross Country puts majority of participants in Rawlins Invitational in top half of 73

The Saratoga Middle/High School Cross Country team raced up to northern Carbon County on Friday to participate in the Rawlins Invitational Cross Country Meet held at the Sinclair Golf Course. While there, the boys' varsity would make up four of the 73 runners participating in the meet.

Representing Encampment on the team, Jarom Herring would lead the Panther runners placing 16th after a time of 19:05. Herring, who took cross country by surprise last year, maintained a consistent position during the run before pushing himself to the finish line with a burst of speed.

The junior runner was the only member of the team to place above 20 during the event. Junior Logan Seahorn, who is running in cross country for the first time this year, placed 27th with a time of 19:44 and was followed by sophomore Gavin Bartlett in 28th place with a time of 19:53. Jeremiah Debar, also a junior, rounded out the Saratoga runner placing 46th after finishing with a time of 20:43.

For their next meet, Saratoga will be crossing state lines on Sept. 8 as they head to Littleton, Colo. for the Liberty Bell Invite.
