Search operation called off when hiker turns up

 


During the weekend of June 16, several search and rescue teams in the area were called out to locate a missing hiker according to a press release from the Carbon County Sheriff’s Office. At approximately 11:45 p.m., authorities were notified that Saratoga resident Emma Dierks had not returned from a hike earlier that day. Dierks, an experienced hiker, was presumed lost by friend Joseph Saverine.
