The Saratoga Sun -

Steinley Cup a brewin'

The 23rd annual Steinley Cup Microbrew Festival in the Good Times Valley is just around the corner.

This year’s competition is set for Saturday, August 18 at Veterans Island Park in Saratoga. An integral part of the afternoon is the Chili Competition and the Craft Show. This event is becoming more popular every year, while still remaining a fun, family-type gathering.

There are three categories in the Chili Competition: red chili, green chili, and salsa. People’s Choice voting will begin when the Festival gate opens to the public at 1 pm. Attendees will pay once, and get to taste all the chili entered in the contest. They can vote for their favorite, and the top cook in each category receives a certificate of recognition and a $50 Chamber gift certificate and bragging rights!

Contestants are asked to please bring one gallon of each entry in a crock pot (or other similar container) to the park by noon. Containers must be picked up by 6 p.m. For an application to enter and a full list of rules, go to the chamber’s website at, stop in or call the chamber office 307-326-8855 by August 15th.

Local and regional crafters are invited to sell their art and wares in this beautiful park environment. There is no charge for the booth space and exhibitors will receive one complimentary entry to the event. Set up will begin at 10 a.m. and all vehicles must be off the island by noon. If you are interested, stop in or call the chamber office by August 15.
