Saratoga hosts Burt Willford Invite

Panther track does well at hometown meet, prepares for upcoming meets, regionals

The Panther Den hosted the Burt Willford Invite on Saturday and several members of the Saratoga track team placed highly over the weekend in multiple events. The day before the meet, Sam Schneider placed 2nd in boys high jump at the Wyoming Track Classic in Casper with a height of 6 feet, 2 inches.

Lady Panthers

Taylor Bennett placed 2nd in the 100 meter dash with a time of 13.35 seconds. Bennett also placed 2nd in the long jump and the high jump with a distance of 15 feet and 32 feet, respectively.

Shianne Baker placed 3rd in the 100 meter dash with a time of 14.9 seconds and 3rd in discus with a distance of 91 feet, 7 inches.

Lairren Peebles placed 4th in the 100 meter dash with a time of 16.23 seconds, 2nd in the 200 meter dash with a time of 35.67 seconds and 7th in the long jump with a distance of 11 feet, 11 inches.

Mychaela Jackman placed 1st in the 100 meter hurdles with a time of 17.55 seconds and 4th in the 300 meter hurdles with a time of 55.47 seconds.

Kaitlyn Campbell placed 3rd in both the 100 meter hurdles and the 300 meter hurdles with times of 18.93 seconds and 55.47 seconds. Campbell also placed 3rd in the triple jump with a distance of 28 feet, 6 inches.

Savannah Wells placed 1st in the 300 meter hurdles with a time of 53.89 seconds and 3rd in the long jump with a distance of 14 feet, 9 inches - just 3 inches behind Bennett.

Ashlynn Johnson placed 1st in the 3200 meter run with a time of 14 minutes, 59.09 seconds.

Tiffany Bauer placed 4th in the long jump with a distance of 12 feet, 10 inches. Following Bauer, Katelyn Bifano placed 5th in the long jump with a distance of 12 feet, 7.5 inches and Makiya Johnson placed 6th with a distance of 12 feet, 3.5 inches. Makiya Johnson also placed 4th in the triple jump with a distance of 27 feet, 10.5 inches.

Bauer placed 2nd in shot put with a distance of 29 feet, 8 inches and 5th in discus with a distance of 79 feet, 5.25 inches. Bifano placed 4th in shot put with a distance of 25 feet, 7.5 inches. Kylee Conseen came behind Bifano, placing 5th in shot put with a distance of 25 feet, 4.75 inches. Heather Wallace placed 6th in shot put with a distance of 23 feet, 6 inches.

Conseen placed 6th in discus with a distance of 76 feet, 7.75 inches. Kaylyn Hunter followed Conseen, placing 7th in discus after throwing a distance of 72 feet, 8.75 inches.

Kelly Glode placed 6th in the triple jump with a distance of 25 feet, 11.5 inches.

The team of Baker, Bennett, Jackman and Wells placed 1st in the 4x100 meter relay with a time of 53.95 seconds. In the 4x400 meter relay, the team of Conseen, Glode, Makiya Johnson and Campbell placed 2nd with a time of 5 minutes, 7 seconds.

In the 4x800 meter relay Bifano, Makiyah Johnson, Conseen and Glode placed 1st with a time of 13 minutes, 13.9 seconds and in the sprint medley relay the team of Baker, Jackman, Wells and Ashlynn Johnson placed 1st with a time of 5 minutes, 1.35 seconds.

Panthers

In the 100 meter dash, four Panthers placed 3rd through 6th. Preston Dew came in 3rd with a time of 12.52 seconds followed by Noah Rimmer coming in 4th with a time of 12.68 seconds, Logan Wells in 5th with a time of 13.64 seconds and Cameron Travis in 6th with a time of 13.66 seconds.

Greg Swanson placed 2nd in the 200 meter dash, finishing with a time of 25.43 seconds. Rimmer placed 4th in the 200 meter dash with a time of 27.34 seconds. Wells placed 5th in the 200 meter dash with a time of 28.78 seconds and Travis placed 6th with a time of 29.32 seconds followed by Menphis Smith in 7th, finishing with a time of 29.46 seconds.

Travis placed 2nd in both shot put, with a distance of 37 feet, 8 inches, and discus, with a distance of 115 feet, 3.75 inches. Dew placed 4th in shot put after throwing a distance of 35 feet, 8.75 inches and 5th in discus with a distance of 94 feet, 7.5 inches.

In the long jump, Gage Bartlett placed 1st with a distance of 20 feet, 5.5 inches. Rimmer followed Bartlett by one spot, placing 3rd in the long jump with a distance of 17 feet, 7 inches and Smith placed 5th with a distance of 15 feet, 4 inches.

Bartlett also placed 1st in the 400 meter dash with a time of 56.95 seconds followed by Jeremiah Debar placing 2nd with a time of 58.89 seconds.

In the triple jump, Bartlett placed 2nd with a distance of 40 feet, 11.5 inches coming in behind Sam Schneider. Schneider placed 1st in the triple jump with a distance of 41 feet, 3 inches. Teegan Love placed 3rd with a distance of 35 feet, 11.5 inches and Swanson placed 4th in the triple jump with a distance of 35 feet, 9 inches.

Schneider also placed 1st in the high jump with a height of 6 feet and placed 2nd in the long jump with a distance of 19 feet, 2.5 inches. Bartlett placed 1st in the long jump with a distance of 20 feet, 5.5 inches.

Love placed 2nd in the high jump with a height of 5 feet, 4 inches.

In pole vault, Gavin Bartlett placed 1st with a height of 8 feet followed by Wells with a height of 7 feet, 6 inches. Gavin Bartlett also placed 4th in the 1600 meter run with a time of 5 minutes, 46.67 seconds while Benjamin Fairbanks placed 1st in the 800 meter run with a time of 2 minutes and 14.06 seconds. Joey Gonzales placed 1st in the 3200 meter run with a time of 11 minutes, 57.68 seconds.

The Panthers also placed 1st in the 4x100, 4x400, 4x800 and sprint medley relays. The team of Dew, Love, Swanson and Rimmer finished the 4x100 with a time of 49.66 seconds while the team of Love, Gage Bartlett, Fairbanks and Debar completed the 4x400 with a time of 4 minutes, 8.11 seconds.

The 4x800 team, consisting of Gonzales, Gavin Bartlett and Jerry Everett placed 1st with a time of 10 minutes, 58.33 seconds. The sprint medley team of Schneider, Fairbanks, Swanson and Debar finished with a time of 4 minutes, 8.35 seconds.

Saratoga has two more track meets before Regionals in Lander starting with the Bobcat Invite at 1 p.m. on May 4 in Thermopolis and followed by the Shane Brock Invite in Lander at 9 a.m. on May 5.
