Miners get in three

HEM tracksters compete in three meets to good results over the weekend

“Our meets went quite well this weekend,” Jackie Jones, Hanna, Elk Mountain, Medicine Bow (HEM) High School head track coach said. “On Friday, Conor McGraw placed 3rd in the 300 meter hurdles at the Wyoming Track Classic (in Casper). This is a major accomplishment, and it one that is well deserved.”

The Miners went to Mountain Man Invitational in Pinedale on Friday and the Ranger Invitational Saturday.

The team came in 4th overall at the Mountain Man.

Shane McGraw placed 1st in the boys 400 meter at 51.82 and Taylor Scott came in 1st on the girls 400 meter at 1:05.70

Scott came in 1st with a time of 28.02 in the girls 200 meter and Amy Campbell came in 2nd at 28.31. S. McGraw came in 2nd in the boys 200 meter at 28.58.

In the boys 800 meter, Kyle Solaas scored points for the team coming in 6th.

Sabrina Geller scored points coming in 4th in the girls 3200 meters and Taylor Widdison came in 5th in the boys 3200.

A. Campbell came in 5th and Taylee Widdison came in 7th for team points in the girls long jump and S. McGraw came in 2nd in the boys long jump at 19-08.25.

In the girls triple jump Scott came in 5th and in the boys triple jump Devon Grosstick took 5th to add to the team’s points.

At Kemmerer Scott came in 1st in the girls 100 meter race at 13.70 and A. Campbell came in 2nd at 14.50. In the boys 100 meter C. McGraw came in 1st at 11.89 and S. McGraw 12.13.

In the boys 200 meter race C. McGraw came in 1st with a time of 23.32.

In the girls 400 meter Scott came in 1st 1:03.40 and Widdison came in 7th. In the boys 400 meters Solaas came in 6th and Alex Claice came in 7th to add points to the team’s score.

In the girls 800 meter run Madison Campbell came in 5th. S. McGraw came in 2nd in the boys 800 meter with a time of 2:03.62.

In the girls 1600 meter race, M. Campbell placed 1st with a time of 6:29.92 and Geller came in 7th for team points. In the boys 1600 meter Widdison came in 4th.

C. McGraw placed 3rd in the boys 110 meter hurdles.

The boys 1600 sprint medley team, consisting of Basil Philips, Widdison, Grosstick and Solaas came in 3rd.

The girls long jump had A. Campbell place 1st and in the boys long jump S. McGraw came in 1st.

Grosstick added more points to the team by placing 5th in the boys triple jump.

A. Campbell came in 5th in the girls shot put to help the team get points.

“The meets in Pinedale and Kemmerer were great meets for our kids to compete against different teams before regionals and state,” Jones said. “We had even more pre-qualifiers, and the continued effort of our kids is setting up many good things in the upcoming weeks.”
