Tigers top times

Schroeder 1st in 3200 meter, more prequalify for State

The Tigers trekked northward this weekend as they attended the Pine Bluffs Invite. At the end of the meet, several Lady Tigers and Tigers placed and one of the boys relay teams would prequalify for state.

Lady Tigers

Amber Stubbs raced ahead to grab 1st place in the 1600 meter run with a time of 6 minutes, 9 seconds. Stubbs also placed 4th in the 400 meter dash with a time of 1 minute, 10.67 seconds.

Grace Tieszen came in nearly three seconds behind Stubbs in the 400 meter dash with a time of 1 minute, 13.27 seconds, but did not place. Tieszen did, however, place in the triple jump with a distance of 28 feet, 7.25 inches.

Lauren Buford grabbed 7th place in the 800 meter run with a time of 2 minutes, 52 seconds.

Cheyanne Jordan flew ahead in shot put, securing 2nd place with a distance of 36 feet, 1.50 inches. Jordan also placed 4th in discus with a distance of 94 feet, 8 inches.

Noelle Peterson came in two spots behind Jordan in shot put at 4th place with a distance of 33 feet, 11 inches.

Tigers

The 4x800 meter relay tam, composed of Reid Schroeder, Kyler Miller, Cody Cor and Jarom Herring, placed 2nd with a time of 9 minutes, 31.54 seconds. The team also prequalified for State.

Schroeder also placed 1st in the 3200 meter run with a time of 10 minutes, 52 seconds, Herring placed 2nd in the 1600 meter run with a time of 5 minutes, 5 seconds and Cor placed 7th in the 800 meter run with a time of 2 minutes, 21 seconds.

Cor would trail fellow runner Sean Stewart by two spots with Stewart placing 5th with a time of 2 minutes, 15 seconds. Stewart also placed 6th in the 400 meter dash with a time of 56.02 seconds.

Wyatt Cox was the only Tiger to place in discus, placing 6th with a distance of 129 feet, 2 inches.

The Encampment Tigers will next depart Tiger Nation to compete at 4 p.m. in the Wyoming Track Classic in Casper followed by the Burt Willford Invite at 9:30 a.m. on April 28 in Saratoga.
