State ranks swell for Tigers

Encampment track adds discus thrower to list of those prequalified for state

The Encampment Tigers and Lady Tigers ventured up to Casper over the weekend to compete in the Natrona Invite. At the end of the meet, another Encampment Tiger would be prequalified for State.

Tigers

Wyatt Cox, senior, placed 8th in discus over the weekend with a distance of 120 feet and 3 inches. This distance prequalified him for State as he threw nearly five feet further than the 1A qualifying distance of 115 feet and 10 inches.

Dalton Taylor threw a distance of 31 feet and 6.25 inches in shot put and 79 feet and 4 inches in discus, surpassing his distance at the Glen Legler Early Bird Memorial Invite by nearly 13 feet.

Kaleb Carr, competing in the 1600 meter run, finished with a time of 5 minutes and 58.33 seconds. Carr also completed the long jump with a distance of 13 feet and 2 inches.

Lady Tigers

Cheyanne Jordan, in shot put, threw a distance of 31 feet and 8 inches and 90 feet and 5 inches in discus. Jordan pre-qualified last week in shot put at the Glen Legler with a distance of 31 feet and 5.5 inches.

Amber Stubbs finished the 800 meter run with a time of 2 minutes and 47.19 seconds.

Grace Tiezsen completed the 400 meter dash with a time of 1 minute and 12.48 seconds and, in the triple jump, finished with a length of 27 feet and 8.75 inches.

Encampment will depart from Tiger Nation on March 29 for the South Twilight meet in Cheyenne followed by the Wheatland Invite on March 31.
