Valerie J. Morris

Valerie J. Morris, 66, of Saratoga, Wyoming passed away Dec. 31, 2017. Valerie was born March 7, 1951 in the Bronx, New York to Lester and Frances (Faniole) Morris. She grew up in Manhattan and enjoyed summer trips to New Jersey. She graduated from Cathedral High School in 1969 and went on to earn her nursing degree from Casper College. She married her sweetheart Chris Hart on June 10, 1978 in Ft. Collins, Colorado. Throughout her life Val always had an adventurous spirit and was always willing to try new things. She enjoyed camping, hunting, skiing and bike riding; she even tried skydiving once. Floating the river and whitewater rafting held a special and lifelong interest. She loved a yearly overnight ladies float trip and was proud of being part of eight Grand Canyon private floats. She was a former school board member of the Carbon County School District No. 2 and the Platte Valley Kiwanis Club. She is survived by her husband Chris Hart of Pinedale; son David Hart of Cheyenne, Wyoming; father Lester Morris; grandson Damian (Stephanie) Hart of Cheyenne, Wyoming; great-grandchildren Evelyn and Dante; sisters Patricia (George) Jedlicka, Elizabeth Morris and Regina (Larry) Helfer; brothers Lester Morris Jr. and Stephen (Jamie) Morris. She is preceded in death by her mother, Frances Faniole.

A celebration of life will be held this coming summer in Saratoga. Memorial contributions in Valerie's memory can be made to The Platte Valley Kiwanis Club, P.O. Box 1536, Saratoga, WY 82331.
