Annette M. Mason

Annette Marie Mason, 56, passed away January 5, 2018 in Cheyenne, Wyoming.

Annette was born August 6, 1961 in Kemmerer, Wyoming to Myron and Jeanette Mason.

Annette met and married her former husband Royce Kelley, and from this union came a bouncing baby boy Mason Kelley–the light of her life! Annette attended the University of Wyoming and earned a degree in business. She then worked part-time teaching and where she found her passion. Annette returned to school and earned her teaching degree. The 1989–1990 school year was her first full year of teaching. Annette taught kindergarten through fifth grade during her 20-plus years as a teacher at Saratoga Elementary.

Annette was always up for an adventure and lived life to its fullest. She traveled throughout the United States and abroad–including Japan, Mexico and international cruises. Annette loved science and the outdoors. It was not uncommon to see her out hiking, cross-country skiing, floating the river, or simply taking in the beauty of Mother Nature. Annette became a practicing Buddhist later in life.

Annette is survived by her son Mason Kelley; brothers Terry (Cathy) Mason, Ventura, Cali. and Mike (Jana) Mason of Scottsbluff, Neb.; and a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and a lifetime of friends.

Annette was preceded in death by her loving parents.

Donations can be made to the Saratoga Elementary School for the Annette Mason Memorial in lieu of flowers.

A celebration of life is planned for 10 a.m. on Saturday, Jan. 20 at the Platte Valley Community Center in Saratoga.
