Janalee Grooman

Janalee Grooman, age 84, and a former resident of Saratoga, died Oct. 28, 2017 at Brookdale Hospice in Glendale, Arizona, following complications from Alzheimer’s disease.

Janalee was born Feb. 3, 1933, in Baggs, Wyoming, to Roy and Hannah Adams. She had a very happy childhood growing up, attending school and graduating from Baggs High School in 1951. She had four children by two marriages and she raised her family in Saratoga, Wyoming. She was very active with the 4-H Club and PTA. She was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary, and the Rebekkah Lodge.

Janalee worked many years as a bookkeeper at Old Baldy Club before moving to Arizona in 1983. She was an excellent seamstress, enjoyed spending her time reading mystery novels and tracing her roots on Ancestry. Her generous nature filled her home with love, fun, family, and friends, including an attitude that there was always room for one more.

She is survived by one sister, Jean Shepherd of Laramie, three daughters; Judy Murray of Rawlins, Wyoming, Jamie McCullough of Glendale, Arizona, Terry Sheradowski of Placerville, California, and one son, Jim Grooman of Glendale, Arizona. She has 11 grandchildren and seven great grandchildren.

A memorial was held on November 8, 2017, at the Chapel of the Chimes in Glendale, Arizona. A summer memorial is being planned for interment of her ashes at the Baggs, Wyoming, cemetery.
