Kristi passed away on Monday, November 6, 2017 at her home in Colorado Springs, Colorado. Kristi was born July 23, 1961 in Rawlins. She lived in Saratoga all her young life, graduating from Platte Valley High School in Saratoga in 1979. She married Gabriel Cruz in Las Vegas, Nevada on April 20, 2002. Most of her adult life she lived in Colorado.
She is survived by her husband, Gabe as well as her beloved dogs Ira and Tazer of Colorado Springs. Her mother Verna Nieweg and sister Connie Hazard, both of Longmont, Colorado, her step-mother, Winnie Allen of Saratoga, Wyoming, her brother George (Ann) of Gillette, Wyoming, her step-sisters Susan Hoem (Kelly) of Ft. Morgan, Colorado, Lynn Rook of Longmont, Colorado and step-brother Ron Nieweg of Idaho Falls, Idaho. Kristi is also survived by Mr. and Mrs. John Cruz of Windsor, Colorado, as well as several brother-in-laws, sister-in-laws, nieces and nephews, her aunt, uncles and several cousins. She was preceded in death by her father, George M. Allen, step-father Curly Nieweg and step-sister Jean Garnett. Also preceding her in death were her paternal grandparents Riley and Margaret Allen and maternal grandparents Sandy and Lucille Garetson.
