PVCC touts 'Perfect 10'

Facility’s 10th anniversary celebration features sit down dinner, music and auction

The Platte Valley Community Center (PVCC) will celebrate its tenth year with a fundraiser to benefit the center as well as student activities at Saratoga schools.

This year’s event, called “Perfect 10,” in honor of the PVCC’s tenth anniversary, will be held September 22.

It will bring together members of the community to raise funds for capital improvements for the center. This year, there will be some changes to the format of the event, which will feature a full service dinner rather than a buffet-style meal. The meal will be catered by Scott and Michelle, LLC. Dessert will be catered by Sweet Marie’s.

Still, patrons of the PVCC will have the opportunity to listen to music performed by Caitie Taylor and Daron Little during the cocktail hour before dinner. There will also be an auction of donated goods attendees can bid on, with proceeds going to the PVCC.

Last year’s event, called “Cloud 9,” raised $77,535 for the community center, PVCC Director Joe Elder said. The proceeds from past events were used to make improvements to the PVCC facility, including a fire suppression system and renovating the floor of the Kirsten Campbell gym. Last year’s proceeds mostly went to cover the expense of repaving and expanding the center’s parking lot, Elder said.

This year, whatever funds come in at the fundraiser are not earmarked for a large project, but rather will be used to fund some smaller, yet just as needed improvements. This year, the hope is to raise enough money to pay for refinishing the facility’s floors, adding handicap accessible doors and other projects.

Some items for bid during the auction include an invitation to participate in the Governor’s Wild West One Shot Turkey Hunt in Hulett. Lunch with Governor Matt Mead will also be auctioned off, as will as exclusive access to an event at the Hotel Wolf featuring University of Wyoming football coach Craig Bohl.

Those interested in attending should contact the PVCC at 307-326-7822.
