Wyoming Senator Enzi seeks interns for fall

In-state students given preference for job opportunity in nation’s capitol.

Senator Mike Enzi (R-Wyo.) announced an internship in his Washington, D.C. office and is encouraging students from all areas of study to apply by the deadline of July 15.

“An internship in my office is rich with opportunity and provides students with firsthand knowledge and experience,” Enzi said in a news release. Interns are important to the office’s functioning Enzi said, and those selected for the internship will get to meet many people, work on projects and experience living in Washington, D.C.

The interns will be able to network, develop job skills and cultivate experience that will enhance the interns’ education and future careers. Interns will give U.S. Capitol tours to visitors, write policy and hearing summaries, prepare legislative memos, conduct research for legislative aides, observe proceedings on the floor of the Senate and attend hearings and lectures.

Interns are paid a monthly stipend to help defray the cost of living in Washington, D.C., and can also receive college credit for the internship.

According to the release, preference is given to students from Wyoming or those who study in the state.

The internship runs from Sept. 6 until Dec. 16. Applicants should be sophomores or higher at an accredited university or college, the release said. Those who wish to apply should visit http://www.enzi.senate.gov, select the “students” tab and click on “Internship Information” in order to access the application form.
