Friday, July 1

8 p.m. Live Music

The Snowy Mountain Brewery will host Captain Red Eye & The Rhino Hunters. This Americana band shoots for a dance-able performance. The band’s sound is often compared with the sounds of Tom Petty, Allman Brothers and Steve Earle. Live music also occurring at other local bars.

Saturday, July 2

7-9 a.m .: Breakfast served at the American Legion Post #54

9-5 p.m .: Platte Valley Arts Festival at Platte Valley Community Center

Juried art show featuring Jan Hodson, Chuck Weaver, Jerry Wood, Elizabeth Wood, Gray Keiming, Guadalupe Barajas, Jimmy Deivine and more. Admission:1 day- 14 and older $5 or get a 3-day pass for $10. No children under the age of 13 admitted without an adult.

10-3 p.m .: A Celebration of Custom & Culture at Saratoga Museum Pavilion

Journey back in time and enjoy historical demonstrations at the Saratoga Museum across the highway from the airport. Call for more information at 326-5511 or visit http://www.saratoga-museum.com.

9-3 p.m .: Auto Show at Platte Valley Community Center parking lot

The Platte Valley Knights Car Club showcases custom cars, motorcycles, old farm trucks, 1940’s sedans and so much more! Cash prizes and dash plaques will be awarded in several categories. Bring your list for the swap meet.

4-10 p.m .: Freedom Fest at The Yard

Freedom Fest goes country. The Yard in Saratoga presents five country bands in different styles for the Sixth Annual Freedom Fest on July 2. The gate opens at 4 p.m. with music from 5 to 10 p.m. Admission is $15 and children under 13 are admitted free. Food and drink are available. “Annie & Amy” will be performing at 3:30pm.

11-4 p.m .: Benefit for Saratoga Fire Department at the Whistle Pig

American Legion will be serving hamburgers and hotdogs and all the fixins’ at 11 am. There will also be a mud run for ATV’s at noon and a live auction at 3 pm. The kids can enjoy a dunk tank and a slippery slide, too.

3:-8 p.m. Live Music downtown Saratoga on Bridge Street

Live music, street vendors, food and lots of fun! Remember your lawn chair and enjoy the activities.

Monday, July 4

7:30am: Pancake Breakfast

Saratoga Volunteer Fire Department is providing a free breakfast at the Fire Station on the NW corner of Spring Street and River.

8 a.m .: Cancer Walk

Saratoga High School Skills USA students have organized this Cancer Walk for the past few years. Honor a friend or family member and register for $20 per person. Registration is held at the town municipal parking lot where the Walk starts. All proceeds will be donated to the Susan G. Komen Foundation and the local Corbett Medical Foundation.

10:30 a.m .: Wounded Warrior Watermelon Fundraiser (WWWF)

Young elementary children will be selling watermelons slices in front of Hot Diggidy Dog for donations to be given to the Wounded Warriors.

11 a.m .: Parade

Dozens of fun floats travel along the highway in downtown Saratoga. The route begins at the south end of town on Walnut Street and continues to Bridge Street and then turns east. If you would like to enter the parade, line-up begins at 10:30 and you must call the American Legion Post #54 at 307-326-9600 to participate.

11:30 a.m. (approx.): Old Fashioned Bake Auction

Live auction of homemade pies, cakes, cookies, bread and other goodies on the corner of Bridge Street downtown. Proceeds go to the Platte Valley Kiwanis Club for their community projects!

12-7:30 p.m .: Togie Days at Veterans Island Park

American Legion will be serving a BBQ by donation and cash bar will be available. Live music, games, vendors, and craft show. Don’t forget your lawn chairs! 6:30 p.m. “Annie & Amy” performing

2-4 p.m .: Kids Art Experience Veterans Island Park

Free interactive art workshop for elementary-aged children. Glitter, paint, cut, glue, sculpt and create! Workshop is sponsored by the Platte Valley Arts Council. Be sure to take your finished pieces home with you!

Dusk: Fireworks

Fireworks will be launched in Saratoga courtesy of the Old Baldy Club. One of the best places to watch them is from Kathy Glode Park on Constitution Ave. The Town of Encampment sponsors the fireworks launched from McClure Field in Encampment.
