According to a news release from the Wyoming Department of Transportation (WYDOT), traffic on the HWY 130 bridge in Saratoga will be reduced to one lane starting on May 23. The lane closure will allow workers to make repairs to the bridge.
Flaggers will be on each end of the bridge controlling traffic while crews complete repairs. One lane of alternating traffic will be allowed to cross the bridge at a time, and the speed limit will be reduced to 10 mph in the work zone. Motorists should expect 10 to 15 minute delays.
According to the WYDOT press release, the work is expected to be completed by late spring or early summer.
Motorists are asked to slow down, obey posted speed limits and be conscious of workers when driving in the construction area, said Jake Lonn, WYDOT’s resident engineer in Rawlins. Traffic control measures are put into place by WYDOT to protect both drivers and workers in construction zones, Lonn said.
The work is part of a 12 mile long overlay project between Walcott Junction and Saratoga. The majority of work was finished in 2015, but some minor bridge repairs remain to be completed.
