Kenneth 'Ken' Peryam

Kenneth "Ken" Peryam, age 67, of East Peoria, Ill., passed away and went home to be with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Saturday April 16, 2016 at his home.

He was born April 29, 1948 in Baltimore, Md. to David R. and Gail (Terwilliger) Peryam. He married Margaret "Peggy" Miller on July 26, 1969 in Park Forest, Ill. She survives along with one son, Ben (Natalie) Peryam, of Great Falls, Mont., two daughters: Betsy (John) Wegner, of Wenona, Ill., Jennifer Peryam, of Winona Lake, Ind., fourteen grandchildren, and two sisters: Laura (Rick) Luchsinger, of Lusk, and Mary Louise (Ron) Noton, of Encampment.

He was preceded in death by his parents, one son, Levi, and one brother, Bruce Peryam.

Ken attended the University of Wyoming and earned his Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering from SIU-Carbondale. He was a member of Sigma Chi. He was a United States Army Veteran serving in the Vietnam era from 1968 through 1971. Ken worked for garage-owner Art Zeiger for several years, and also enjoyed his time working for the Encampment Forest Service.

He was a Quality Control Engineer for Komatsu in Peoria. He was a member of the First Covenant Church in Peoria, and the Mid Illini Jeep Club. He was an avid Jeep and Ford Bronco fan and enjoyed rebuilding vehicles as a hobby his whole life.

Cremation rites have been accorded. Davison-Fulton Woodland Chapel in Peoria is in charge of arrangements. A memorial visitation will be Wednesday, April 20, 2016 from 5 to 7 p.m. at the First Covenant Church in Peoria. A Celebration of Life service will be Thursday, April 21, 2016 at 11 a.m. at the Church. Rev. Kevin Wright will officiate.
