Contracts awarded by Riverside

At their Dec. 10 regular meeting the Riverside approved two contracts for work around the town and reported no problems found in their self-audit.

Black Diamond Electric submitted a bid of $8,400 to complete electrical improvements at Riverside Town Park. The entire project has grant funding available in excess of the amount bid according to town clerk Jan Cook. The council accepted Black Diamond’s bid for the work.

The council also approved Cory Nuhn’s bid for plowing of Riverside streets for the winter of 2015-2016.

The sewage lagoon outflow has been adjusted and the biodomes are now mostly under water according to mayor Leroy Stephenson. One of the biodomes may be resting on a pipe at the bottom of one of the lagoons and may need to have its position adjusted.

The town of Riverside will continue to be a patron of the the Platte Valley Arts Council at a yearly rate of $200. In other planning decisions it was confirmed that a bi-monthly meeting of the Carbon County Council of Governments will be held in Riverside on July 20.

Alyson Sneddon recently completed a self-audit of the towns finances and found no discrepancies. The audit covered items such as expenditures, receipts and grant funds according to Cook.

The next regular meeting of the Riverside Town Council will be at 6 p.m. on Jan. 14 at the Riverside Town Hall.
