Century21 moves main office to Rawlins

Century21 in Saratoga is closing, but the franchise owners Will and Susan Speer said that all of their services will still be available to residents in the Platte Valley.

They were not quite ready to close the doors yet, but problems with the franchise agreement ultimately led them to the decision move all business to the office in Rawlins.

The Speers were hoping to have the Saratoga location as a satellite office in order not to renew a 10-year lease. When that agreement fell through, they had no other realistic choice, the Speers said. “That was not the plan,” Will said.. “It was kind of forced upon us.”

“We were just kind of shocked,” Susan said.

“We’ve been very blessed,” Susan said of the 20 years she and her husband have spent selling real estate out of Saratoga. “This is our home, and it’s been good to us, and we love it here.”

“It’s a good community to work in,” Will said.

The Saratoga lease agreement expired in November, and signs have been taken down. Despite that this particular location will shutter, the Speers say they will continue to serve all of Carbon County. “We’ll just be operating one office instead of two,” Will said.

“Really, we’re still here. We all live here,” Susan said, adding that anyone that might call the Saratoga office will be forwarded to the Rawlins office, where the Speers will get the message immediately. “There’s no reason why we can’t meet with people, take listings, help them sell their properties—it’s just the phone number on the signs will be the Rawlins phone number.”

“We’re not leaving anybody out to dry,” Susan said.
