Auxiliary president visits Saratoga

The American Legion Auxiliary Department of Wyoming President, Rebecca (Becky) Allred, made her official visit to the Saratoga Unit 54 on Nov. 7. A noon luncheon was held by Unit 54 for her, her husband, Sherman, and her mother, Betty, who are accompanying Becky on her visits around the state.

Becky joined the Auxiliary sponsored by her husband, Sherman B. Allred, a veteran of the Vietnam era. They have two sons, Enoch and Eric. Eric served during Desert Storm with his college National Guard Unit.

Becky has served as president and chaired many committees for the Marion Tanner Unit 29 of Basin, Wyo. She has also served two terms as president of District 4 and held department offices of Chaplain and vice president/membership chairman. She will serve as department president for the 2015-16 year. Becky received the American Legion Educator of the Year award for Wyoming in 2001.

Becky’s theme is “Be(e) United in Faith, Family and Freedom.” Her goal is to help strengthen all the units in their dedication to our veterans, active military and their families.

Eight members from the Auxiliary Unit 54 attended the lunch meeting including past department president Betty Eaton, of Saratoga. A wonderful time was enjoyed by all.
