X-Country surges at home

The high school boys cross country team takes off for their 5k race at the Saratoga Resort and Spa golf course on Friday. Most of the runners improved their times significantly, showing a home court advantage.

“You only get to shine in front of your home people once a year,” Saratoga Cross Country Head Coach Rex Hohnholt said. At the Saratoga Cross Country Invitational on Friday, the runners had some of their best times.

Notably, Jeremy Detterer finished in second place on the course set up at the Saratoga Golf Course. He finished with a time of 18 minutes, 3 seconds with no one in sight behind him. According to Hohnholt, “Jeremy ran as good as race as he ever had.”
