Trial date set for Ryan Simmons

 


Charged with seven felonies, Ryan Scott Simmons of Saratoga, was found fit to proceed to trial at an Aug. 24 judicial hearing. The trial date is set for 9 a.m., Oct. 27 at the Carbon County District Court in Rawlins.

According to Circuit Court documents, the seven charges include three counts of Attempted Second Degree Murder, three counts of Aggravated Assault and Battery and one count of Felony Interference with a Peace Officer.

The charges stem from the April 27, 2014 incident in which Ryan was shot twice by Saratoga Police Officer George Phillips. Phillips was responding to a domestic...
