Games and laughter

Games provide laughter and socialization during the week. On Sunday afternoon, five residents played Dominoes with Pat Rust winning. On Monday afternoon, three residents played Yahtzee with Pat Sims winning. On Tuesday morning, four residents played Uno with Pat Rust winning. On Wednesday afternoon and Friday afternoons, residents played Bingo. Pat Rust, Nadine Caleb, Barbara Plummer, Elaine Burge and Pat Sims won Four Corners. Elaine Burge, Pat Rust and Kenny won Blackouts. Our volunteers were Lila Worden, Gloria Rakness, Dawna Erickson, Sue Freytag, Elder Springer and Elder Bingham. On Thursday and Saturday afternoons, residents played Blackjack.

Movies provided entertainment for residents throughout the week and the weekend. In the evening residents may watch the Turner Classic Movies channel, which has no commercials.

For exercise during the week, residents did Wii Bowling on Sunday, Kick Ball on Monday, Sittercise on Thursday, Walk/Wheel Out on Friday and Wii Bowling on Saturday.

For Lunch out at the Saratoga Senior Center, three residents had pizza on Monday, and three residents had French dip on Friday.

On Sunday afternoon, Doris Davis stood in for Pastor Arlen Hughes for our church service. She also played religious music on her keyboard.

On Tuesday morning, Pastor Arlen Hughes offered Bible study to four residents.

On Tuesday afternoon, residents went on a Van Ride on the Battle Road with Sue Morawski and had ice cream at Riverside.

On Wednesday morning, four residents had their hair done, and eight residents had their fingernails done by Georgia Schroer, Merlyn Hoopes and Georgia Schroer. Shalyn Smith, our beautician, gave two ladies perms.

Saturday afternoon, residents enjoyed the Ice Cream Social.

We are always in need of small stuffed animals and other prizes for Bingo.
