Time running out to get tax refund papers filed

There were two tables for Duplicate Bridge Monday. High winners were Gertrude Herold and Marianne Blue. Second high went to Mary Sjoden and Janet Donelan.

We still have the papers for the tax refund for the elderly and disabled. Come and get the forms or come in and I will help you fill them out. You only have a couple of weeks left to get them filled out.

We will be having a 55 alive defensive driving class up here on September 9th at 9 a.m. Please call or come by and get signed up to take the class. It does help with your insurance to take it. We will be having lunch up here and we would love to have you stay for lunch. The menu for that day is tuna casserole, mixed veggies, peaches and a brownie. So please let us know if you will be staying.

We had our birthday dinner on Friday. Those having birthdays and anniversaries this month are Berneil McCord, John Moore, William Kunish, and Judy Babel. Berneil was the only one here so she won the birthday money. Anniversaries are Bill and Jane Fluty, Herm and Sherry Weinert, Bill and Chris Wickstrom, and Armond and Janet Zahn. Teense brought Mathias Williams up to entertain with him this month. Mathias is from out East. He was very good and if he is still around next month we hope he will join us again. A lot of our regulars were gone, so we had to call on Frances Kirby and Donna Nordin to come help. Everything went very smooth. Thanks to both of you for all your help.

We had a pretty good response to the collection of school supplies that everyone brought in. We delivered to the elementary school Friday. I want to thank everyone who helped with this project. I feel it was for a good cause and I am sure the teachers will appreciate it.

I had a nice assortment of supplies to take down to the school Friday. We decided whoever wanted to donate supplies to the school could bring them in and I would take them to the elementary school on Friday. Thank you everyone who participated.
