Fun to raise funds for Ryan Park VFD

Get your boogie on all day Aug. 29 with the Ryan Park Volunteer Fire Department (VFD).

The Teense Willford Band will be playing during the 20th annual auction in support of the all volunteer department. Willford will also be auctioneer during the 2-6 p.m. live auction which includes a chili dinner with “all the fixin’s,” according to Carol Beach. After the auction there will be a dance from 6-10 p.m. with Harley and the V-Twins.

The auction, which funds equipment, training and community services that Carbon County does not budget for features items, vacation packages, services and “famous” homemade pies from businesses, guest ranches and local citizens in the Platte Valley. The Ryan Park VFD provides fire, ambulance and search and rescue services.

The A-Bar-A ranch has donated an all expense paid, three-day weekend at the guest ranch. Chances to win will be limited to 100, $20 tickets. The weekend is a $2,900 value.

Featured items up for auction will be a weekend in Denver with Denver Broncos tickets, donated by the Brush Creek Ranch and two passes to the Deerwood Ranch Wild Horse EcoSanctuary near Centennial.

During the day there will be games for the children including a piñata.

Tent camping and outdoor toilets will be available for those who want to spend the night after the days festivities.

The auction and chili dinner costs $10 for adults, $5 for children 6-10 and free for children under 5. The dance is an additional $5 for those attending the auction or $10 for the dance only.
