Everything on track for Riverside Party Day

Councilperson Margaret Weber told the rest of the Riverside town council last Thursday that all plans are in place for Riverside Party Day 2015. J. Shogren Shanghai’d will provide music for the day’s festivities and Weber plans on having food for 200 people to be served at 4 p.m.

John Farr presented information to the council on Thursday about opening WYO 70, Battle Highway, by May 1, or possibly keeping it open year round. The council voted to write a letter in support of the effort which they will present at the meeting with the Wyoming Department of Transportation Wednesday at the Grand Encampment Opera House.

The council discussed a complaint about Whatfest and people potentially camping at the town park and in their cars, creating a noise disturbance and having fires or cooking in the town park. After the discussion, it was decided that there was no evidence for misuse of the town park, no parking in unauthorized areas, and that the few people observed sleeping in their cars did not create a disturbance.
