Power outage planned for early Thursday a.m.

Be prepared for the Wednesday after-midnight electricity interruption


On July 16 at 12:05 a.m., Carbon Power & Light (CP&L) had scheduled a power outage for the Valley. The outage did not occur on time which caused concerns, especially for oxygen users. CP&L’s next scheduled outage is set for tonight at 3 a.m. and will be approximately two hours long.

Joe Parrie, Director of Member Services and Marketing at CP&L, shed some light on why the outage was late and how they work. According to Parrie, both Tri-State and CP&L crews were located at the Trowbridge Substation north of Saratoga waiting for the power to shut off at the time of the scheduled outage that...
