Fire season hits Carbon County

After an unusually wet spring and summer, low humidity and strong winds have brought the fire season warning to Carbon County.

A red flag warning was issued for Monday by the National Weather Service. According to the National Weather Service, a red flag warning means that critical fire conditions are either occurring now … or will shortly.

Temperatures warmed into the 80s over the weekend and Monday, and frequent wind gusts of 35 to 45 miles per hours were common Monday afternoon.
