New bus is a nice ride

There were eight here to play bingo on Tuesday. Two-dollar winners were Betty Dean, Sue Howe and Sherri Lasco. Grace Johnston and Janet Lasco shared a $2 round.

There were two tables for Duplicate Bridge Monday. High winners were Pat Bailey and Gertrude Herold. Second high went to Joni Johnson and Janet Donelan.

We got the papers for the tax refund for the Elderly and Disabled. So you can come and get the forms or come in and I will help you fill them out.

We want to say thank you to Kim and Barb Viner. They made a very generous donation to our center in honor of his Uncle Dick Wiant. Dick has been a big part of our Center for many years, as well as serving his country. We want to use some of the money for a new window covering to start with. Then we will go from there.

We got our new bus this week. It has been so nice, and it rides much better. So, if you are in need of a ride, please give us a call and make arrangements for us to pick you up. It is not just for seniors. It is for the general public.

We talked to Alice Cornell this week. She is going to move to Fort Collins with her daughter Valorie and her family. She said she feels good but is just not up to staying alone any longer. We will miss her very much but that is for the best.

We want to wish Suzie Cox a speedy recovery. She had back surgery last week. She is at home recovering. We miss seeing her at town hall.

We want to wish Jack Riddick a speedy recover as well. Jack got sick on his way home from his trip and ended up in the Cheyenne hospital getting a pacemaker. Not how he wanted to conclude his trip but I guess what will be will be.

We want to wish Melcine Craig a speedy recovery. She has been in the hospital again. We all miss her.

Also we want to wish Sharon Heward a speedy recovery. She got sick last week and ended up in the hospital. Sharon is the site manager of the Medicine Bow Senior Center.

We will be having a BBQ up here at the Center on July 25. We need to have a makeup meal and we like to have a BBQ once a year. So this is a great time to do it. Mark your calendar and come join us.

We had our birthday dinner Friday. Those having birthdays this month are Betty Eaton, Janet Lasco, John Collamer, Myrtle Roybal, Vivien Campbell, Leon Hetherington, Nadene Kerbs, Doris Ledbetter, Peg McAlister, Connie McGuire, Verlin Miller and Marjorie Uhling. Betty Eaton won the birthday tree. Teense Willford brought Chris Macki in with him on Friday for our entertainment enjoyment. It was fun to watch them play together. John Collamer was here to celebrate with us. His very close friends Dr. Doug Booth and his wife Caroline were here to celebrate his birthday with him. It was nice to have him back with us. Hope he will come back very soon.

We want to send our sincere sympathy to the family of Tom McGuire. Tom passed away over the weekend. He will be missed by all that knew him.
