Wild horses up for adoption

The 2015 National High School Finals Rodeo is coming to Rock Springs, Wyo. July 12-18, with over 1,500 competitors from 41 U.S. states, five Canadian provinces and Australia. During rodeo week, the Bureau of Land Management (BLM) will also offer wild horses for adoption and tours at the Rock Springs Wild Horse Holding Facility. The facility will be open from 10 a.m.-3 p.m. July 13-17. No appointment is necessary for interested adopters or to attend the one-hour tour of the holding facility, which includes wild horses gathered from various herd management areas (HMAs) throughout Wyoming.

Directions to the holding facility from I-80: take Elk Street Exit 104 and go north one mile; turn right onto Lionkol Road and follow for a half mile.
