Capsized boaters rescued

A floating tree capsized a boat Saturday afternoon sending three Colorado men into the Platte River between the Highway 130 bridge and Saratoga. The three men were able to climb upon the tree and floated for an hour before they were discovered by another boater who called 911.

According to Archie Roybal, Carbon County Undersheriff, the Sheriff’s Office Dispatch Center received a call around 2:15 p.m., stating three men were stranded on a tree floating down the river just north of Treasure Island.
